Shipping box may be a heavy for some seniors and the elderly, but the meals were packaged well.
Meals were all vacuum packaged with no leaks or damaged meals.
We ordered the breakfast, lunch, and dinner plan for my Mom.
We thought the breakfast meals were good, but a little on the skimpy side, like this Peach Muffin with Apple Butter and Greek Yogurt breakfast.
But there were some outstanding breakfast meals too. My Mom especially liked these Whole Grain Pancakes with Strawberry Maple Syrup, Turkey Sausage, and Asparagus.
She also loved the Egg Burrito with Chicken Sausage, Fajita Vegetables, and Orange Segments.
Lunches will tend to be a soup or sandwich like this Chicken Salad Sandwich with Apple Jello.
We thought the Chili served for lunch was a little on the bland side and the portion was small, but Mom gave it a thumbs up. She liked the biscuit too.
Mom may have been most excited to have the Quinoa Salad for lunch, which she said was one of her favorites. Funny, I don't remeber ever seeing anyone eat Quinoa in the house, but she didn't leave anything on the plate.
It seems most of the food budget went into making a large and higher quality dinner, like this Turkey Salisbury Steak with Mashed Potatoes Gravy, and Green Beans.
A generous portion of Salmon, served with Brown Rice, and Vegetables, Carrots and Jicama Medley. Mom approved.
The Chicken Parmesan didn't fare so well. My Mom was disappointed there was only two broccoli florets, which were outstanding, but she couldn't tell the difference between the "mushy pasta and the mushy chicken parm" as she described it.
The home run of this week's order was the Curried Shrimp with Basmati Rice and Carrots. The shrimp came out like I cooked them here, and the curry was outstanding. Mom's favorite.
